The Tham Lod community has decided to close Tham Lod and not allow non-residents to enter the village until the current situation with the Corona Virus has been resolved. This will take effect on March 19th, 2020. Unfortunately, this means that Cave Lodge will not be able to accept guests and we will temporarily close. This will be the first time since we opened in 1984 that we have closed. We will let you know when we reopen, hopefully before the end of the year. If you have booked a room with us, you are welcome to change your booking to any date/any year. Stay safe.
There are over 200 caves in the local area, 5 of which are more than 4 kilometres long with world-class, pristine formations. Let our expert guides lead you through the best of these amazing caves with minimal impact and maximum adventure. This trip takes you at least 3 kilometres (6-7 km return) into a rarely-visited and stunningly decorated stream cave. These are amongst the best adventures Cave Lodge offers. During the dry season, ask us about visiting Thailand's biggest cave. This one is epic!
COST: 1200-2100 Baht (for 5 or more people- depending on which cave we visit. Sometimes we can run a trip with less than five people) - includes transport to and from starting point of walk to the cave, expert guide (or guides..on some more challenging trips), caving light, helmet and lunch.
Departs at 8.30 AM. returns around 5 PM (or later).
We organise adventure caving trips the night before departure depending on interest. All information on our current trips is available at Cave Lodge.
Some trips are not possible during the wet season or periods of heavy rain. Some we can run almost any day. Please check when you arrive what is possible and if other guests are interested in joining the trip you choose. For groups of 5 or more, we can run almost any trip any day if weather permits.
