The Tham Lod community has decided to close Tham Lod and not allow non-residents to enter the village until the current situation with the Corona Virus has been resolved. This will take effect on March 19th, 2020. Unfortunately, this means that Cave Lodge will not be able to accept guests and we will temporarily close. This will be the first time since we opened in 1984 that we have closed. We will let you know when we reopen, hopefully before the end of the year. If you have booked a room with us, you are welcome to change your booking to any date/any year. Stay safe.
Cave Lodge is the ideal base for adventurous travellers. We organise tours to world-class caves, run trekking tours from 1-3 days to visit hill tribe villages and run kayaking trips through Lod Cave and on wilderness rivers. Our well trained, experienced and friendly guides can take you 3-4kms underground in Thailand's biggest and prettiest caves. Or you can descend fun rapids on river trips from 6-35 km long. We have trips to suit all levels of fitness and budgets. Some of our longest caving trips (7km and over 5 hours underground) are truly epic and many people say they are the highlight of their trip to Thailand. During the wet season from July to October, when the rivers can be pumping, kayaking is a great way to travel. Check our kayaking page for details. There is a trip suitable for everyone, even people with no experience whatsoever. The natural environment around Cave Lodge abounds with forests, mountains, limestone cliffs and caves. There are lots of walking paths, hills to climb, stream valleys to explore and places to find. If you love nature, birdwatching, adventure, caving, discovery, prehistory, kayaking or just soaking it all up, you will love Cave Lodge.
